Business Development Manager

 

Our client is a market-leading organisation within the building safety sector, delivering innovative aftercare, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and remote monitoring services to customers across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities and expand their presence within the Build to Rent, Facilities Management, Housing Associations, and Local Authority sectors.

The Role

 

  • Identify and target Principal Accountable Persons and key stakeholders within Build to Rent, Facilities Management, Housing Associations, and Local Authority markets.
  • Generate new business opportunities through direct sales activity, networking, framework agreements, and strategic account development.
  • Maximise conversion rates for PPM and Remote Services by leveraging completed projects and existing customer relationships.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activity, and new growth opportunities.
  • Create and implement effective business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Investigate and develop opportunities for additional service offerings to increase customer value and business profitability.
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate compelling proposals and commercial solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including the Key Account Director, Aftercare Delivery teams, Marketing, and Technical Support functions.
  • Provide accurate reporting on pipeline activity, sales performance, forecasts, and market intelligence to the Commercial Director – Sales.

The Candidate

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development, Sales, or Account Management role.
  • Experience selling services into one or more of the following sectors:
    • Build to Rent
    • Facilities Management
    • Housing Associations
    • Local Authorities
    • Building Safety or Property Management environments
  • Experience working with framework agreements and public sector procurement routes would be advantageous.
  • Excellent presentation, proposal writing, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify opportunities that drive profitability and growth.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
